Size of the white tin plate

The height of the plate is usually the height of the printing area. The length of the printing area is usually 4 mm smaller than the plate because the edges of the plate close by the welding seam can not be printed.

Printing area

The printing area defines the area on the plate that can be printed. But for technical reasons, the outer frame of the plate is limited to certain objects which may not include text, picures, logos etc., but rather the general background of the design. After deducting the outer frame from the plate size, the text area is left over.

Text area

This is the area where all kinds of objects can be printed without limitation: background, text, pictures, logos etc. In the third column from the right in the table, you can read what has to be deducted from the printing area to get the text aera.
